Rene Marie Russo (born Rene Marie Russo) is an American film actress, former supermodel and filmmaker. In addition to her graceful appearance, her steady success in the film industry proves her skills as an actor. Her career began modeling in the 1970s and soon became one of the most prominent figures in modeling. In the early 1980s, she attended classes in acting and theater before performing on the theater stage of Los Angeles. The year 1987 saw Russo portrayed Eden Kendell on ABC's show Sable. She played Tom Berengers' love interest two years later with Major League, her debut film. Initially skeptical about her capability as an actress, the critics were won over because of her tenacity. The praises were centered around her role of Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak and also in Outbreak, where she fought Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman. She has admitted that she's not a fan of acting. After a lengthy vacation, she self-imposed herself in 2005. Her comeback was a part in Thor. Also, she was in her husbands Oscar Award-winning movie Nightcrawler. Rose has been through highs as well as lows in her career, yet she always emerges triumphant. In April of 2015, Rose fought Carla Esparza for the inaugural Women s Strawweight Championship at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale where she won by technical knockout in less than three minutes in Round One and not just winning the title but also getting the honor of being named Fighter Of The Night along and making history in MMA because this was the first time ever that a women had fought for the title of champion within any major promotion organization worldwide . Namajunas won a number of fights after this win, which included defeating Joanna Jedrzejczyk on two occasions. This brought Namajunas Performance Of The Night accolades from UFC.
